This Privacy Policy explains how Les Poemes collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the iOS application.
This app was built with privacy in mind. You can enjoy a daily poem without creating an account, and only the minimum data necessary to provide the service is collected.
When you use the app, an anonymous account is automatically created using Firebase Authentication. This account has no personally identifiable information attached to it and uses a randomly generated identifier. It allows the app to save your liked poems, viewed poems, and preferences.
If you choose to register for an account, your email address and any profile information you choose to add is collected.
RevenueCat is used to manage subscriptions. When you subscribe, RevenueCat processes your payment through Apple's App Store. I receive your subscription status, subscription type, and a RevenueCat user identifier linked to your account.
I do not receive or store your payment details, credit card information, or Apple ID. All payment processing is handled by Apple.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), your data is processed based on the following legal grounds:
Legitimate interest — For anonymous accounts, there is a legitimate interest in providing app functionality (saving preferences, liked poems) without requiring personal data.
Contract performance — When you register or subscribe, processing your data is necessary to provide the service you requested.
Consent — Where required, your explicit consent will be requested before processing your data.
Your information is used to remember your liked poems and reading history, sync your preferences across sessions, and manage your subscription status.
I do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share your reading habits with anyone.
The app uses the following third-party services:
Firebase (Google) — Anonymous authentication and data storage. Privacy Policy
RevenueCat — Subscription management. Privacy Policy
Apple App Store — Payment processing for subscriptions. Privacy Policy
Firebase and RevenueCat are US-based companies. Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. These providers comply with applicable data protection frameworks to ensure your data is protected in accordance with European standards.
Anonymous account data is retained as long as you use the app. Registered account data is retained until you request deletion.
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Right of access — You can request a copy of the data held about you.
Right to rectification — You can ask to correct inaccurate data.
Right to erasure — You can request deletion of your data.
Right to data portability — You can request your data in a portable format.
Right to object — You can object to processing based on legitimate interest.
Right to withdraw consent — Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact me at [email protected]. I will respond within 30 days.
If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In France, this is the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés).
Appropriate security measures are implemented to protect your information. All data transmitted between the app and servers is encrypted.
This app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. The anonymous accounts created contain no personal information.
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page.
